She focuses particularly on major chronic conditions such as cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.\r\n\r\nSince 1990, women in the E3N study have been completing and returning paper questionnaires approximately every three years. They are asked about their lifestyle (diet, physical activity, sedentary behavior, smoking, alcohol consumption, medication use, hormone therapy, etc.), their environment, and changes in their physical and mental health.\r\n\r\nMedical records are supplemented with reimbursement data from MGEN. Self-reported medical conditions are validated and detailed through collaboration with primary care physicians, pathology laboratories, and hospitals.\r\n\r\nThe information from their questionnaires is supplemented by biological data: 25,000 E3N women provided a blood sample, and 47,000 provided a saliva sample.\r\n\r\nThanks to the loyalty and consistency of the E3N women, participation in the study remains very high, even 35 years after enrollment.
