For the first category, adenomas, adenomatoses, poorly classified tumours, and atypical focal nodular hyperplasias are the most investigated tumours, and for the second category, hepatocellular carcinoma, pretumoural nodular lesions (macronodules and dysplastic nodules) and cholangiocarcinoma are the most investigated.
