This study launched in 2005 is the largest survey among general population on the theme of depression in France. Its main objectives are to estimate the prevalence of the major depressive episode (EDM) among general population and to study the associated factors, to explore health care use for mental health reasons and representations linked to the disease, the treatments or the professionals.
